1916: Birth on 1st October at Fisher Branch, Manitoba. Baptised at the Immaculate Conception’s Curch at Festier Branch, Manitoba, as ‘Joseph Henry Emeric Savage’ on 3rd December. Mother, Rose Savage (neé Charret).

1924: Attended Fisher Branch Public School, until 1934/35.

1933: He received a .22 Gun Shot Wound in the right chest. He spent 4 weeks in hospital and was discharged and returned to school a month later.

1937: Enlisted 17th April at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Occupation before enlistment: Clerk in General Store. Fluent in French. Religion: Roman Catholic. Marital status: Single. Medical on 30th May. Result: Keen and alert. Fit – A1B A3B. Height: 5 feet 4 inches. Weight: 131 Lbs. Chest: 36 inches plus 2 inches expansion. Eyes: Grey. Hair: Brown. Physical development: Good. VisionL 20/20 in both eyes. Hearing: WV 20′ in both ears. No signs of tuberculosis. Residence in enlistment in the R.C.A.F.: Fisher Branch, Manitoba Education level: Grade X. Hobbies: Model aircraft woodwork. Sports: Baseball for four years for Fisherton Lumberjacks and Hodgson Colts. Boxing Competitive). Hockey for Argyle and Woodlands. Swimming, Skating, Football. A lover of all sports.

1943: 3 B&G to No.1 Y Depot on 1st October. From No. 1 Y Depot to U.K. on 8th October. Emb. New York on 8th October . In U.K. On 16th October . From Int.C.133. to R.A.F. Bournemouth on 17th October. From R.A.F. Bournemouth to No. 18 O.T.U. on 26th October. From 18 O.T.U. to 82 O.T.U. on 27th October.

1944: Whilst serving at 82 O.T.U., he was killed as crew of Wellington Bomber BK387, on a training flight which crashed at Tewitt Hall Wood, Oakworth Yorkshire, on 2nd January, killing all those aboard. Buried at Harrogate (Stonefall) Cemetery on 8th January. He was 27 years of age.
