1916: Born on 3rd February at Walpole, Saskatchewan. Father: Andrew Hamilton Glass. Mother: Betrande Simm, address: Grenfell, Saskatchewan. Despite his middle name being ‘Israel’, his family have stated he was not Jewish and it was just a popular name at the time.
1933: Left school at 21 years. Resident in Moosomin, Saskatchewan, Canada. Spoke English and French. Trade or calling: Druggist (Pharmacist) apprentice, Employer: J. G. Wright, Moosomin, Saskatchewan. Religion: Presbyterian. Marital status: Single.
1937: Attested for three years in the Royal Canadian Air Force on 5th June 1937 at Regina, Saskatchewan. Age 21 years, 121 days. Apparent age: 21 years. Height: 5 feet 11 inches. Weight: 137 lbs. Physical development: Good. Vaccinated: in childhood for smallpox. Vision: 20/20, both eyes Hearing: W.V. 25′, both ears. Interests: Athletics and Track. He worked his way steadily up the ranks as an Airframe Mechanic in the next three years of his service and was described as a good potential instructor and Warrant Officer.
1940: Marriage on 16th November 1940 to Wife and next of kin: Mrs Corinne May Glass (neé Davis), 140, St. Vital Road, St. Vital, Manitoba.
1942: Recommended for pilot training on 28th April. Assessment for aircrew fitness: Above average applicant for Aircrew remustering. An ambitious lad who has worked well in the service, he would show exceptional qualities for Observer or Pilot. Desires Pilot. Recommended for Pilot or Observer. Suitable for Commission.
1943: Qualified as a pilot on 5th March. Achieved the rank of Flight Sergeant on 1st April. Intends to enter civil aviation or return to pharmacy after demobilization. Promoted to Warrant Officer Class 2, in December.
1944: Whilst serving at 82 O.T.U., he was killed as Pilot of Wellington Bomber BK387, on a training flight which crashed at Tewitt Hall Wood, Oakworth Yorkshire, on 2nd January, killing all those aboard. Buried at Harrogate (Stonefall) Cemetery on 8th January. He was 27 years of age.
