Armistice Day 2020

With the ongoing issues of lockdown due to the Covid - 19 epidemic we didn't have much in the way of ceremony for Remembrance Day this year. However we did manage to attend a couple of smaller events on Armistice Day, Wednesday 11th November.
The first event was held at Haworth War Memorial when Deputy Lieutenant David Pearson led the laying of several wreaths at the village's main war memorial. A number of people were there and observed social distancing and the short event concluded a few minutes later.
The second event was at Stanbury Cemetery where their village war memorial stands. Deputy Lieutenant Robin Wright laid a wreath, watched by some children and a couple of teachers from Stanbury School who had been visiting there, looking at the memorial prior to us arriving.
