Books for local schools!
As part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund and Keighley Town Council grant, we’re handing out copies of our books to all the schools in Keighley and the Worth Valley.
A copy of our digital output will also be provided on a memory stick.
These books contain our research on each person whose name has been added to the Borough of Keighley 1914 – 1918 Roll of Honour in the Centenary year of 2024.
The contents are:
Preface – About the research – by Andy Wade.
Keighley’s War Memorial – by Eddie Kelly.
Edward Johnston – Guiding Londoners for 108 years! – by Steve Hunnisett.
Roll of Honour. Forming a committee – by Angela Speight.
Keighley Local Studies Library & Archives – WW1 and WW2 Records – by Gina Birdsall.
Medals – by Andy Wade.
Then follows 103 biographies on each person who has been added to the book.
