Keighley Railways – Great War

All these men are known to have lived locally and worked for our local railways with either the Midland Railway (MR), or the Great Northern Railway (GNR) and later served their country during the Great War.
Major William Roper may have worked for the Great Western Railway (although this is unconfirmed) and served as Commandant of the Volunteer Battalion at Keighley Drill Hall.

The information on all the men named on these posters was supplied by The Men of Worth Project, as a consequence of our research, however, we are particularly grateful to Glen Hopkins of Northern Rail, for his initial contact to us in 2011 and the supply of information from his own historic database of railway employees.
