Early beginnings

Well the aims of the project changed from a small hobby project to research the Oakworth war memorial names, into a desire to include all the names for the whole of Keighley and the Worth Valley. A couple of years ago, Keighley and District Local History Society loaned me the Keighley News Great War Archive (it's a big ledger book made up as a scrapbook) of clippings and includes the pictures posted each week during the First World War.

I have photographed them all, there are about 2200 pictures altogether and they will slowly be added to the archives on the main Men of Worth website. The thing is, that the quality is better than what appears on the microfilm at the library. Apart from looking in the actual newspapers themselves (and they're not easy to access), what I now have are the best available pictures of these people.
