After a great meeting on Tuesday evening (6th July) we are please to welcome new Project members Laura Goodchild, Carole Hodge and Kat Hyde. They will be running the 'Women of Worth' part of the project (amongst other things).
They'll start by tackling the huge list of names which Christine Hudson has distilled from the Red Cross VAD cards and which we have placed in that section of the website.
The Red Cross have very kindly made the VAD Record Cards freely available on their website and this means we can now identify many local women who served their country during the Great War.
Update:
Since Carole and Kat joined, Laura Goodchild joined shortly afterwards and in the last couple of months Jimmy Vaughan, Oliver Robertson, and Lynn Parker have all begun working with us.
